CompVersions is
a great tool for designers to use. It allows designers to send their work on a
project to the client(s). Client(s) are able to view their work and provide any
comments they desire. They can also provide a thumbs up or down on the project.
In addition the designer may provide the client with stages to the project,
starting from the beginning to the end. The price ranges from $9 (5 clients) -
$49(unlimited amount of clients) per month with a 30-day free trial.
The first step is to add the clients email addresses you wish to
obtain access to the project. Next step is to add a project name, and then the
stage in which the project is at. After upload the image in which you wish to
share. Once it is uploaded sharing can begin. An email is sent to the client
granting access to the file. The client is then allowed to comment on the
images within the project you originally uploaded.
I think this tool would be a great addition to the classroom of
designers. The students can upload their work and send it to the class for
review. It allows for those individuals who are afraid to speak up in class
about another’s work. It will also allow for them to see what others are
thinking, what they thought would make the piece better. It provides a comfort
for all.
CompVersions can also be a stepping-stone for those who would
like to begin their own company and desire
to use a tool that can bring them to a professional level. It would provide the
ability to demonstrate themselves as professionals. Below are a few screen shots of the tool.

Something I really like about CompVersions is the fact that kids could create a project, and then receive feedback from other classmates and not have to worry about being intimidated. Sometimes feedback can be really hard for people to take. Now I know that sometimes getting over the fear of intimidation is good so I think CompVersions could be used for people who suffer from anxiety when it comes to getting feedback from peers. Also this could be something that is used in certain grade levels. It would all depend on the audience however I see major benefits of this tool.
