Remove yourself from the possibility of becoming a victim of your situations. Wk 3 Reading- Rule #6
The reading for this week was very profound! Rule #6 is a story that I would like to share with so many co-workers! In fact I did. I went to work the next day after reading the story and a co-worker had to deal with a very uncomfortable situation so I told her the story about rule

Week 3 Reading: Art of Possibility Pt2
"The Art of Possibility" book is so fascinating and speaks some great truths. It enlightens your mind and brings about possibilities. In the seventh chapter The Way Things Are, it speaks about taking a situation and spinning it in a way that is not like how many have mentioned before. It speaks on how some things can not be changed or controlled but one can take their situation and find a solution that is suitable. This chapter allowed me to look at some of my situations and state the issue and then I actually finally found a solution. It was as the foggy storm just cleared up

Week 2 Reading Entry
Chapter 1 It's all invented. Wow, this book is amazing! Chapter one was about how we invent things about situations in our lives that are automatically fulfilled because we believe them. However, if we change our view to a positive one, we begin to see the situation in a whole new perspective. This chapter really caused me to

Yesterday I finished reading the first four chapters of "The Art of Possibility" and it blew me away. I learned that we must be open to looking at live with a positive perspective. We must open the possibility to us and those who are around us to do their best, to feel that we contribute to the bitterness of the people who are around us, to create a positive impact, and lasting impression to students, family, friends, etc.

Week 2 Reading: Art of Possibility Pt1
What a book! Not what I expected to have read. Possibilities... We all know that there are many but at times, we allow our situations to cloud our vision and see the possibility. This book provides you with the thought that changing the way something is perceived,

Week 2: Where to present?
As I was going through a list of conferences, I came across about six conferences that I feel would be best suitable. I was thinking, "Wow there are six I can choose from! That's great!" I thought that it was going to be difficult to locate a conference that would suit my research. Looking over the six conferences, I was able to narrow it to three. This is harder than I thought.

week 1 copyright
copyright. patent law. trademark. ugh. the first part of the videos was informative and depressing. being able to copyright things for such a long time seems like a drag for society. we seem to be able to move faster and evolve quicker but are not because of old thoughts and laws holding our society back. the second part of the videos gave a little hope with fair use, but with all the restrictions i would rather just skip it all together. this all was making my head spin until the last part of the videos creative commons.

Classmate Original Blog Post:
I am a singer song writer so this is a very interesting topic for me. I did not know that the length of a copyright was 70 years. I do see where this can provide a problem with the current state of technology. A common practice in pop music is sampling. In music, sampling is the act of taking a portion, or sample, of one sound recording and reusing it as an instrument or a sound recording in a different song or piece. I was operating under some of the myths that were dispelled in the videos that Dr. Bustillos dispelled in his videos. This information leads me to want to dispel another copyright myth that is common among musicians. I have heard that if you mail a copy of your creation to yourself that is just as good as copy writing. I will have to research and see if this is true.

Week 1: Copyright Issues, PT1-3: Information Overload (To Copy or Not to Copy)
To copy or not to copy, that is the question. Copyright is a topic
that many question and try to manipulate. There are many who have played
on the borderline of copyright. It is a topic that not many are aware of or
find too boring to read about. In my current workplace, copyright and fair use
are not really touched upon. It is only mentioned twice throughout the entire
program and only for a brief moment. This is an area in which myself and the
other instructors would like to increase knowledge of. At the current moment,
the students only locate images by searching through the browser and using
hi-res images only regardless what the copyright now might be on the image.

First Attempt: Music
Ok so this is my first attempt at making music using Garageband. Using the program was the easy part, I must say. The hardest for me was actually being able to create music. I must say, "I commend all musicians and artist who create music from scratch." (Applauding) I have a new found appreciation for musicians, (not that I didn't before. It's just now I understand the hard work.) So I attempted to create a short musical sound using the loops within Garageband and it sounds ok. Yes, I truly mean ok. It's not the best but it isn't that bad either (well in my opinion). Enjoy!
