Ok so I have finally finished my lesson. Hope you enjoy it.
In this lesson, the graphics used are simple and clean. I used a whiteboard, a sheet of paper, and a woman narrator. I desired for the focus to be on the lesson and not on unnecessary items. For example in the lesson, I used a white square, which I simulated as a piece of copy paper and provided the information on the paper. It created a basis for the learner to understand how a proposal should appear once it is completed. This provided extra learning without actually verbalizing it. Learners can mimic it. As I completed this lesson, I have realized that the lesson has used more than three of the principles I mentioned prior. In the lesson, I considered breaking it up for a smoother understanding without overloading the learner with information. The intent was to provide the information in a clean fashion. In addition, the lesson does not contain many words for the learner to read. The words used for reading are quick reminder words that can be stored in the memory bank without all the unnecessary vocabularies. This engages and motivates the learner because s/he can retain the information.

Online Lesson
This was my first ever creating an online lesson. The exploration of it was out of my norm but very interesting and fun. I acquired a lot of knowledge in creating this lesson with the Imagination Station team. It was interesting to see it all unfold. All the conversations we had, contemplating decisions we had to deliberate on, the fun we had changing so much around. It was great, even if we were from different cities or time zones. It was a lot of hard work and long nights but I think as a team we came up with a great lesson. This is a great way of motivating and engaging the learner into a new way of acquiring knowledge. It opens up the door to so many different places for learner to be able to go beyond the classroom textbooks.

My Flash Lesson Pt 2
Ok so I have been working on this lesson for about a good week. I have done sketches and written a script. In this lesson, I am using many concepts to the lesson. I am using a narrator, some graphics and words. I think it's coming out pretty well. I have a lot to cover on this lesson but in the end it's going to be great. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
The graphics I have chosen are a whiteboard, a woman narrator, and in the future an image of what a proposal may appear like. I have chosen these items because the narrator is the decorative type of the proposal and brings a sense of connection with the learner. The whiteboard provides the classroom representation. It provides the learner with a location and brings about the classroom environment mindset.
The design principles used in the lesson are multimedia, modality, and personalization principles. I have chosen to use these principles because the topic on hand is fashioned for young adults who are in need of a clear understanding of how to create a proposal. The use of words and graphics allow for a clear understanding on the subject. In this lesson, the narration is provided by audio because the subject is a topic that can be uninviting if it is all in text. The audio enables for a conversational style of speaking and draw attention to the learner. I feel that these are the best principles chosen for this particular topic.
Check it out. Let me know what you think.

Flash lesson
Check out my flash title for a lesson I am creating. I think this is going to be interesting to make. I haven't used flash in a while. Click here to see my title page.
The topic of the proposed lesson will be based on how to create a Mu
Sigma Upsilon Sorority Proposal. The lesson will consist of a character that will explain what a proposal
is and how to create a proper proposal. The character will begin with the basic
structure and order of a proposal. Next tips and hints will be provided to
enhance the proposal writing structure. Each individual will obtain all
knowledge, rules and regulations on proposal writing within the organization. After completing this lesson, the learner will be able to evaluate
a situation needed to resolve and plan a solution for improvement. Dissect and compose
a proposal for submission and approval within the organization. In addition, the learner will be able to identify and recall the rules and
regulations on how to submit a proposal. In addition, the learner will be able
to prepare and formulate a well-composed proposal for submission and approval within
the organization.
The target audience for this proposed lesson is women ranging from 18 –
30+ years in age. The women are from all areas around the globe that are either
obtaining their college education or have already obtained a college degree.
This media will be presented to a small group of the women within the
organization as a workshop presentation. Then later presented to the entire
organization. The presentation overall will be presented via a classroom
presentation then later be available via a web link. At the present time, a
computer and projector will be needed to execute the lesson.

W4 - Reflection
In the ETC class, I was able to work with some great Web 2.0 tools. Exploring and searching for a new tool to use and learn was fun and exciting. It made me want to show others my experience. You'll enjoy this class if your going thru now. It will take you out of your comfort level with programs and new tools.

PE5 - Prezi
Prezi day 2: It is still amazing. The program is fun and easy to use. GUESS WHAT?!! It's iPad friendly. The free version allows for a lot of options and editing. Sharing is a plus. A bonus I say. Pictures, videos, shapes and imagination is all that is needed to make a fantastic presentation. Anyone may edit, as long as they have the access link. Flash can be added to the presentation (here's an example). Another example, I had to share. Presentation may be saved onto your computer with the purchase of the membership.
So much to say about Prezi. So many things that can be done with Prezi. The only thing that limits you is your imagination. Design your heart out with this tool. Share with others, edit with others. Create, design, imagine. Enjoy the end result.

PE4 – Prezi
I really enjoy this program (Prezi). I know many are using this program but I truly fell in love the first time I encountered it. I love it so much that I mentioned it to everyone I know at work.
Prezi is a presentation tool which using a combination of whiteboards and slides. It is know as a cloud-based presentation software. It allows you to create an interesting presentation. One that allows you to think outside off just one slide per information. When I first was first introduced to the tool, I started creating using one of the templates. I sort of went in reverse. I looked at the template that was already created and proceeded to replace the images and the words. I also looked into the section that contains the most popular presentations. I searched for ways to make the presentation I was make interesting and fun.
Below is screen shot of the program:
As you can see you can chose from a template and then make changes to it for your presentation.
Once all changes are made, you are then allowed to make paths that lead the viewer thru your presentation. The result is amazing. At times you unknowingly make great picture views.

BP4_Glogster
In my
search for a great tool to use, or actually better said, in search of which
tool to decide to use, I found this great tool that can be used in as a way to
increase motivation and involvement.
This tool provides a way for the class to interact with each other and
share their knowledge.
Glogster Edu is a collaborative online learning platform for teachers and students to
express their creativity, knowledge, ideas and skills in the classroom, as the
site describes it. Individuals are able to create an interactive poster on a
subject that includes videos, images, graphics, text, drawings, sound, and
data.
First step to setting up a glogster:
Choose your choice of using the Single Free to the School Premium. There
are four options to choose from and each has features befitting to what you
will need for the class. Once you have established the subscription you desire,
filling out the form is very simple. Choose from either a teacher or student
subscription and then place your name, username, and password desired.
Second step (the fun begins):
This is where you are able to begin to create a glog (the interactive
poster). You can begin by changing the Glog Wall and Page Wall to what best
suits the subject being presented. After the wall’s designs have been decided
then come the photos, videos, graphics and text. You can link images and
videos, and add text banners. In addition to being able to create an
interactive poster, the poster can be shared and edited with a group of
individuals. Once the design is complete, the poster can be saved and shared
with all to view.
Email received to participate in editing and viewing. |
Glogster Edu can be used for many subjects. It uses learner-centric
learning by creating a participatory community. Each person can place the
information needed to make an interactive poster. One thing that may be
implemented is creating groups to handle different aspects. For instance, one
group can be the ones to collect all the images needed, another group can
collect videos, and another may collect sound and so forth and so forth.
I
created a poster; please click here to

Part three of iMovie: As I continued to explore iMovie, I find that there are certain things that are limited for me to do. I’m not the number one movie director / producer, but I have a little experience with using Premiere Pro. With Premiere Pro, there is more control over the video and frames. The program is a bit harder to understand than iMovie but the ability to control all aspects of your video is in a way easier. iMovie is a great beginner program for video editing but has it’s limitations. I enjoyed using the program and watching the video. I did learn a few things more that it can do. For instance, the ability to stabilize the video if it contains turbulence. In the videos I’ve recorded I used a tripod but this will be useful on another video in which the tripod was not available.
iMovie is a program I will be using more often because it is easy to use and fun. I can make quick short videos with photos and upload them to share with friends and family. At this moment, I’m actually working on a video of photos. First step to this video is to edit the photos in Photoshop. Once I complete that I will then be able to position the pictures in the order desired into the project. This video will be fun to make. I’m still thinking of what kind of baby themed music to use. Well I’m sure, I’ll be able to find something. Click on this link to view a video I created using SecondLife, and Screenflow (with the assistance of sound affects).
PE2_iMovie
Part two of iMovie: Ok so watching the tutorials was a bit of torture
for me. I became distracted several times. Besides that, I actually learned
some great things. The first thing that I learned was how to add photos and
images to the project. I spent quite a few hours trying to figure out how photos
are added to into the project. This is one area that I believe needs to be improved
within the program. I feel that when you create a new project all the files
that belong with that particular project should be placed in a folder along side
it. It was a bit annoying when I would photo edit an image within Photoshop and
save it, I would then have to go to iPhoto to import the image so that iMovie
may recognize the image for use. This would then create for all the images to
be placed into one folder instead of separated by project. If the image was
saved in the correct format and then placed in the correct folder, iMovie
should recognize it regardless of where it was saved from. Just a thought.
Another portion I that was a great piece, was the ability to jump cut
the video into 30 frame increments to match up with the song. I had a hard time
with this one in my second video. The song used was not long enough to match
with everything. So using the jump cut would have made the ending of my project
a bit smoother. Click here for a sample of a video.

PE1_iMovie
iMovie: very interesting program. I learned a few
things that I didn't know from when I first started the EMDT program. In my
first encounter with iMovie, I had this big lavish idea I wanted to create.
Unfortunately, due to my lack of knowledge on how to use the program and the
limited time, I was unable to create what I had thought of within my mind.
After my project was created and the fear of not handing in the assignment on
time passed, I went back and started to play around with the program. I saw some
great things and started to play around and implement things. I am the type of
person who just dives right in to learn a program. I love to mess up and then
figure it out. I enjoy the frustration of finding out how to get it right.
The tutorial assisted me with a few of the
questions I still had not answered myself. It also provided me with a few of
the things which helped me create a much better movie but of course I forgot to
follow Rule One, Make sure all
individuals are being captured on the video. No head clipping. In addition,
I learned how to add transitions to the project. Some of the tools were a bit
difficult to comprehend but the tutorial clarified a lot for me.
One advice I shall give you, use the tutorial first. Don't be like me
and dive right in without some assistance. I was never one to truly learn from
watching. I enjoy getting my hands dirty.
Take a look at the screen shot of a project I am starting but have not quite
finished. In addition, Click here to see my first video. It was very poorly made. Please don't judge me.

Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs; What a great man. My heart goes out to you and all that you have done. You were... No you are a great person who had a mind I wish I could have encountered. Steve Jobs..... You and your great personality and presentations will be missed.
